With an abundance of concern for the more than 1,000 guests who support our annual Welcome House Breakfast, our Board of Directors has elected not to host the on-site event at the Overland Park Convention Center which was re-scheduled for July 14th.

Instead, we are making plans for an exciting virtual event – still hosted on July 14th at 7:30 am. This 60-minute live streamed event will include an amazing video specially produced for this year’s event, the 2019 Miracle Award presentation, our exciting raffle prize drawings, and an opportunity to make a difference at Welcome House and in our greater community!

Pour a cup of coffee and plan to join in all the action on July 14th from your computer, tablet, or mobile device!

There will be plenty of details in the weeks to come. For now, please know that your support – as a sponsor, an event captain, or a guest – is very much needed and appreciated. Together, we can ensure that men seeking a better life in sobriety have access to the support and resources they need at Welcome House.

Thanks for all you do for Welcome House!

Meet our 2020 CoChairs

Welcome House board members Dr. Heather Hale Rosberg (left) and Ms. Katie Castro (right) are co-chairs of the 7th Annual Welcome House Breakfast.

Dr. Hale is Co-Founder, Chief Clinical Outreach Officer and Therapeutic Consultant at The Kinectic People. Ms. Castro serves as Membership Services Director at The Builders Association.

“Heather and I are honored to lead this year’s breakfast – an event that just gets bigger and better each year,” says Katie.

“Our goal is to recruit at least 100 individuals to serve as event captains. Though we will miss being in the same room with our guests, we have an opportunity this year to engage even more people in our mission! We hope out event captains will reach out to as many people as possible to participate in this year’s virtual event,” adds Heather.

Because almost everyone knows someone whose life has been impacted by alcoholism and/or drug addiction, anyone can be an event captain. It is a great way to make a difference right here in our local  community.

Please connect with us if you would like to serve as an event captain.

A Breakfast of Champions!

Since its beginning in 2014, the Annual Welcome House Breakfast has transformed the face of recovery in Kansas City. This event is way more than breakfast, high-caliber speakers, and the most exciting raffle and prizes in town. It is a strong and mighty community of champions who advocate for the life-giving, life-saving mission of Welcome House.

It’s a mission that has inspired kindness, caring and generosity for nearly 50 years.  We hope you will join us for a unique, exciting and memorable morning on July 14th!
